Celebrating their 7th anniversary, the Energy Business Awards 2008 were announced this evening at EMART Energy 2008 in Geneva - the annual European platform for energy trading.
Energy Business rewards excellence in a number of key energy business disciplines; to those companies who are making a significant impact on the way energy business is conducted, trading risks mitigated, precious energy resources utilised, energy systems developed, environmental degradation curtailed, energy technology advanced, and energy production and consumption distributed more efficiently and ethically.

The Energy Business Awards: A two-stage process
The EBAs are a two-stage process, comprising a nomination period followed by voting on a shortlist of five nominees in each award category.
Stage 1: This first stage was for nominations and concluded on September 5th 2008. Companies from throughout the energy complex were invited to nominate themselves or others in any one of the categories of excellence.
Stage 2: The second stage [from September 8th to September 26th] involved voting for 1 of 5 nominees from each category drawn up by the Awards Panel. In 2008, nearly 8,000 votes were cast across the award categories.
